The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) invites applicants for a PhD research scholarship at the Crop and Environmental Sciences Division. The successful candidate will conduct research on crop health and will manage field research plots throughout South and Southeast Asia in the following countries: Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and the Philippines (IRRI). This 3-year PhD scholarship is part of IRRI’s multidisciplinary efforts to develop strategies for rice crop health management and to mitigate the impacts of production constraints. This project deals specifically with rice crop health and will be part of the IRRI plant disease management program. It focuses on finding integrated solutions to rice crop health problems, which include diseases, insect and animal pests, and weeds. Research area: Crop health management The Scholarship Level: The scholarship is for a PhD degree. The Scholarship persiod:  3 years Scholarship benefits: Round-trip airfare and related travel expenses, monthly stipend with local medical and accident insurance, university fees (with an upper limit), leadership and professional development funds, and research support costs.
